Kosovo Foundation for Open Society is organizing the scholarship award ceremony, which will take place on Tuesday, September 20 2011, 12:00 – 14:00 at Grand Hotel, Pristina.


The ceremony is organized as a part of the “EU Support for the Implementation of the RAE Strategy” (EU SIMRAES) project funded by the European Union, managed by the European Commission Liaison Office to Kosovo and implemented by the Kosovo Foundation for Open Society. EU SIMRAES project is funded under the framework of the 2009 Instrument of Pre -Accession Funds and it aims to work towards improving the position of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities in the fields of education, culture and media.


In total, 200 secondary school students and 20 university students benefit from the EU SIMRAES scholarship program for the period of two years. In this, second round, scholarships will be awarded to 35 secondary and 4 university students from Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities from whole Kosovo.


Participants will have a chance to see the photography exhibition “Who We Are” prepared by Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian youth and a presentation of educational activities implemented in Learning Centers, which are part of the project. Lunch will be organized for all participants at the end of ceremony.
