Environmental Mosaic – 4 Case Studies Challenge the Governance!

environmental-mosaic-thumb
The quality of the environment in Kosovo remains a secondary topic, despite a slightly intensified debate recently. Kosovo Government’s access and its strategic documents to improve the air, water and land quality are not introducing significant moments for discussion. Even when elaborated well, strategies lag far behind in producing any concrete action towards improvement. This is valid for almost all strategic areas addressed by the Kosovo administration. According to an unwritten rule only large development projects, which have reached public’s focus, have created a more positive noise on environmental problems. When such projects have a significant impact on environment, endanger the health of the population, and threaten environmental values, they become interesting topics of discussion along with other problems such projects generate. And when saying so, I mean projects like Kosova e Re Power Plant, Ferronikeli, Sharrcem, Trepça, National Motorway, etc.
