An Evening with Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptians

The Kosovo Foundation for Open Society organizes “An Evening with Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptians” on Wednesday December 14th, 2011, starting at 18:30, at the hall of the Architecture Department, (behind Academy of Sciences and Arts), in Prishtina. The evening is organized to celebrate the end of the year through visual presentation of a number of Foundation’s projects. More than that, the cocktail reception will be enriched with a taste of Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian culture performed by famous Kosovar artists. Hazir Myftari will perform a part of the one-act play “The Seven White Masks Of Scaramouche Jones,” written by Justin Butcher, Kujtim Pacaku will read few of his own poems, as will Enver Petrovci, while Bajram Kinolli-Kafu and Driton Berisha

EU SIMRAES scholarships award ceremony

Kosovo Foundation for Open Society is organizing the scholarship award ceremony, which will take place on Tuesday, September 20 2011, 12:00 – 14:00 at Grand Hotel, Pristina.   The ceremony is organized as a part of the “EU Support for the Implementation of the RAE Strategy” (EU SIMRAES) project funded by the European Union, managed by the European Commission Liaison Office to Kosovo and implemented by the Kosovo Foundation for Open Society. Summer School ‘Soros 2011’

The Summer School “Soros 2011” which was jointly organized by Kosovo Foundation for Open Society (KFOS) and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MASHT) has now ended. The School was organized as a segment within the project of providing support towards the Implementation of the Strategy for the Integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Communities in Kosovo. The summer school was held in Durrës, Albania beginning of July. The aim is for this school to become a traditional event, and this is the second time that the school was organized by KFOS. The extensive program that was taught interactively covered civic action in order to prepare the youth from Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities to be more actively involved
