Festival of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Culture 2012

Festival of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian culture is organized for the second time in Kosovo, as of 21 until 27 May 2012. Festival is organized as a part of the project “EU Support for the Implementation of the RAE Strategy”. This project aims to support the Kosovo Government in developing democratic and multi-ethnic society by implementing the RAE Strategy and its Action Plan. More specifically, this project aims is to improve the socio-economic well being of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities in Kosovo by facilitating access to education, by preserving and promoting cultural heritage and by improving information about RAE in mainstream media. Annual meeting with NGO representatives of minority communities

Ninth annual meeting, with more than 70 representatives of civil society organizations of minority communities in Kosovo, was held in Mavrovo (Macedonia) from 26 until 28 February 2012. Two panel discussions were organized this year in addition to discussion on the priorities and objectives of civil society of minority communities. Following topics were covered in discussions: 1.      Civil society and major political events – how civil society organizations of minority communities are contributing to the development of democratic institutions in Kosovo. Kids of Tomorrow

“Kids of Tomorrow” event is a result of work of famous Kosovar artists (Igballe Qena, Zake Prevukaj, Ibrahim Kadriu, Sami Pirraj, and Fatmir Lama) with the children from Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities.
